Diamonds takes 1st place and breaks their personal best time!

Fly'N Aces attended the Rude Dogs West tournament in December with our Diamonds team.  The team did an amazing job of breaking their personal best time ever with an 18.975.  The first day Diamonds was able to rally back and finish in second place and the second day of the tournament was just as exciting with the round robin format.  Diamonds took 1st place on Sunday!  Congrats to
Creek, Who, Bayville, Sushi, Sake, and Devon for a job well done!

National Qualifying Team

Our Hearts team qualified to compete in the upcoming Nationals in September 2009.  Unfortnately we had a training set back after our trailer and equipment was stolen and are unable to now attend Nationals.  Hearts took 2nd place in their division qualifier tournament and broke a new team record of 16.932 seconds all in one weekend!

FNA Hearts Team conquers their own personal best time

The Hearts team is the fastest team that Fly'N Aces usually puts together.  Typically this team runs in the mid 17 second range.  We have been striving to work on tighter passing, more consistency in order to be a better team overall.  The dogs that have been practicing on the Hearts line up are Echo, Sam, Widget, Devon, Kumey, Bonzai and Cricket.  For the May 16th & 17th, 2009 Stampede Spring Round Up, it was apparent our Hearts team was struggling a bit in the beginning of the tournament on Saturday.  After a team cookout and lots of talk on strategy, the Hearts team emerged on Sunday as a new team.   Hearts ended up taking 2nd place in Division 2 and also beating the Teams own personal best time.  The official best time for Hearts is now 17.120.  Are we heading for a team that will break into the 16 second range?  Congratulations to Sam, Bonzai, Cricket & Widget who were on the team to break the record.

FNA Diamonds Team takes 1st Place

Diamonds is FNA's second fastest team.
The Diamonds Team recently took 1st place at the Stampede Spring Round Up in Hurricane, Utah.  The weekend started out the same for our Diamonds team as it did our Hearts team, a little off key.  All of the good food and wine on Saturday night must have really got our teams Mojo flowing because on Sunday, the Diamonds team rallied back from 5th place on Saturday to 1st place on Sunday!  This team was made up of a crazy veteran dog who acts like she is still 3 years old, a highly intense McNabb with one focus (his tug), a sweet and steady Border Collie Mix, and a fearless little Welsh Pembroke Corgi who thinks she is in charge of the tournament. Congratulations to Bayville, Creek, Who, Devon and Sushi on a well deserved comeback and 1st place!

Cricket earns her TFFC title and Top Flight Expert Award

Congratulations to Rich Owens and his Border Collie, Cricket for achieving their Top Flight Expert Award and TFFC title in early 2009.

Cricket reached over 20,000 points this past February.  Rich was presented the TFE plaque in March at the ROCC tournament in Ramona, California.  Rich gave a very heart felt speech to the Fly'N Aces team after receiving the award.  He thanked all of his team mates that helped handle Cricket at races over the past few years.  Rich was especially grateful to a former FNA team mate, Emily Unruh.  Emily ran Cricket at many tournaments and was great at getting close passes with Cricket as the anchor dog.  Rich spoke highly of Emily and his appreciation was from the heart.  Cricket has been a great asset to the Fly'N Aces team and we hope she continues to be a part of the team for another 20,000 points!

Bonzai & Sam, 4 seconds and under

Bonzai is one driven boy.  He made his debut in February and started off his flyball career with a bang.  In only a matter of a few tournaments, Bonzai has gone from running singles to running on our fastest FNA Hearts Team.  He started out running in the 4.7 second range the first few recorded singles races he entered.  Bonzai ran his fastest singles race in Ramona at the ROCC in March.  His time was 3.980!  Way to go Bonzai & Susan!

Sam is another amazing dog with such intent to please.  He has a lot of drive and has broken under the 4 second range on our team.  He achieved his fastest recorded singles time recently at the Stampede Spring Round Up.  Sam's time was 4.050!  Great job Sam & Jessica!
